Tanjung Puting National Park is home of more than just the great ape, other kind of animals are really easy to find, such as; proboscis monkey, macaques, gibbons, fireflies, big dragonflies, blue streak of kingfisher, storm stork, hornbill, etc. For other interesting animals required patience to meet, including; red monkey, estuary crocodiles, wild pig, deer, monitor lizards and heron, they show up occasionally on the riverside. The boating safari of the national park is very memorable experience, leading alone the jet black, nipah palm fringed the Sekonyer river while the black water rich of tannins organic acid and poor of oxygen reflects the sky and trees like a mirror.

Tour Itenary :

Day 01  ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN

Meet at airport and directly transfer to hotel for check in. Next, exploring Banjarese river civilization by taking an afternoon canal sightseeing. Afterwards, return to hotel for overnight. Free at your own leisure.

Day 02  FLOATING MARKET – NAGARA – LOKSADO

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Breakfast at hotel, then continue our trip to Muning village to get our boat cruising the narrow canal to Nagara lake for observing water buffaloes swim to the stall and villagers' unique activities as well as enjoying the romantic sunset outlook. Afterwards, proceed to Loksado for overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 03  RAINFOREST TREKKING

After breakfast at lodge, we will proceed to explore jungle and Dayak land crossing primary and secondary rainforest, hills, waterfall, hanging and suspended bamboo bridges, villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, longhouses, cinnamon and rubber trees. In the afternoon, we will back to the lodge through other trail with different beauties of nature. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 04  BAMBOO RAFTING BANJARMASIN

After breakfast, we will take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting across beautiful landscape of tropical rainforest along the Amandit riverside meanwhile our coach will be waiting on the downstream for transferring to Banjarmasin for overnight on hotel. (B,L)

Day 05  BANJARMASIN – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at hotel and free at own leisure till the proper time for transferring to airport for your flight to Pangkalan Bun. Arrive at Pangkalan Bun and directly transfer to Kumai sub-district for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quite river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. Overnight and dining on houseboat, with facilities; thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. Day 06  TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will board the houseboat for cruising upward to Pondok Tanguy to explore the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans. Next, return to houseboat for sailing upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, you will have opportunity to trek into the rainforest with your expert guide and forest rangers to appreciate the flora as well as viewing wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. Lunch will be served on houseboat. In the afternoon, we will visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river and overnight on houseboat. (B,L,D)

Day 07  TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – DEPARTURE

Return to Kumai district by boat then transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. (B)
