Borneo or Kalimantan is known as one of the largest tropical rainforest in the world. The land offers plenty of amazing places to explore. Cruising the Sekonyer river to Tanjung Puting National Park will give you the opportunity to see wild forest with kinds of fascinating fauna, such as; orangutans, monitor lizards, crocodiles, proboscis monkey, wild pig, birds, etc. While the Kahung Valley is part of Meratus Mountain on South Kalimantan, it is a precise choice for anyone who loves adventure, started by cruising Riam Kanan Lake with mountainous panorama and birds sightseeing to reach Belangian village for hiking the grass hills and crossing villagers’ farms. Afterwards, you will encounter the tropical rainforest with plenty of gigantic trees and romantic cascades while some wild birds and primates showing up occasionally, you will engage the wonderful nature of the Borneo with amazing beauties of the great atmosphere on its forest.

Tour Itenary :

Day 01  ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN

Meet at airport and directly transfer to hotel for check in. Next, exploring Banjarese river civilization by taking an afternoon canal sightseeing. Afterwards, return to hotel for overnight. Free at your own leisure.

Day 02  FLOATING MARKET – BELANGIAN – SUNGAI BESAR

Early in the morning, we will leave to floating market for exploring the unique culture of Banjarese that trade commodities from boat to boat, then return to hotel crossing Banjarmasin River while sightseeing people activities at riverside. Next, proceed to Aranio small port for cruising up by cruising upward the Riam Kanan Lake to reach Belangian village while sighting beautiful mountainous scenery, floating fishing ponds, and boat making as well as species of bird fly over the lake. Afterwards, soft trekking to Sungai Besar for setting our campsite at riverside. (B,L,D)

Day 03  RAINFOREST TREKKING

After breakfast, we will be trekking to Riam Cemara crossing villager farmlands, rivers and cascades, meadow, hills, primary and secondary rainforest. Next, continue trekking to Kahung valley waterfall with almost the same characteristic. On our trail, we will hear and see plenty of primates jump on trees as well as wild orchids. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on bivouac/tent at riverside. (B,L,D)

Day 04  RAINFOREST TREKKING BANJARMASIN

After breakfast, proceed to Belangian village for cruising downward to Riam Kanan small port and directly transfer to Banjarmasin for overnight on hotel. (B,L)

Day 05  BANJARMASIN – PANGKALAN BUN – TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at hotel and free at own leisure till the proper time for transferring to airport for your flight to Pangkalan Bun. Arrive at Pangkalan Bun and directly transfer to Kumai sub-district for boarding the houseboat to Tanjung Puting National Park. The houseboat is a traditional wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The boat crew including the boatman, cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quite river by the houseboat while observing the primates along the riverside. Overnight and dining on houseboat, with facilities; thin mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, and simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen. Day 06  TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will board the houseboat for cruising upward to Pondok Tanguy to explore the rehabilitation center of the new ex-captive orangutans. Next, return to houseboat for sailing upward the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At this station, you will have opportunity to trek into the rainforest with your expert guide and forest rangers to appreciate the flora as well as viewing wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. Lunch will be served on houseboat. In the afternoon, we will visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river and overnight on houseboat. (B,L,D)

Day 07  TANJUNG PUTING NATIONAL PARK – DEPARTURE

Return to Kumai district by boat then transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. (B)
